The Brightest Light

Light is the key to the truth. The brighter the light, the greater the truth, and the brightest light illuminates the secrets of Spirit. Light is fundamental to our human well-being and to our future as souls.

You know as I know that what our eyes see through the scattering of light on an object is a shadow, a distortion of its reality. The scattering of light photons is limited by the brightness of that light: the stronger, the brighter the light, the more we can see. Illusion fades.

It seems trite these days to talk of the Light of the Soul. It is a phrase often used glibly, but if we remember what it means we can appreciate its significance and incorporate it into our life. The more evolved we are spiritually, the more light we carry at every level of our being, light that is the central part of who we are. Our light can be overshadowed by our human errors, but never destroyed. Like the light of God, it grows, with us.

The brighter our light the more it is visible, seen and cherished far beyond Earth. The brighter our light, the more we see and know.

It was revealed this week that scientists at the University of Nebraska have created the brightest light ever known on our planet, with a brilliance a billion times stronger than that of the sun. While it can be used as a new kind of X-Ray for identifying tiny malfunctions in the body, what interested me was that this very bright light changes the appearance of objects, revealing new angles and colours sometimes quite startlingly.

Just as the degree and quality of light within us dictates how well we can see the life and light and colours of the nature around us or the desk before us, so this man-made light seems to be able to do the same – but with one difference. The power of the light is blinding and needs machines to see. Our light is natural, it is beautiful, it is God-given, and it is kind. It sees and knows all, and it is far more powerful than any device man can ever make.
