Sunday’s Equinox of Opportunity

Sunday’s Equinox is remarkable for marking the three quarter point of an eventful year, for bridging two extraordinary seasons and, shamanically, for being betwixt and between two different worlds.

A Winter Spring Equinox

Tomorrow is a special day as the planet celebrates her total balance in light with the advent of the Vernal Equinox, a day welcomed by many in the northern hemisphere as the harbinger of warmth, sunshine and rebirth. The terrible incident highlights the dilemma facing countries close to or distant from Africa and the Middle East as to how far they go, and in what way, to resist the growing, destabilising power of Islamist militants.

Pope Francis and the Equinox

Apart from Prince Charles, it is rare to hear a public figure or leader defending Gaia, and so it was with pleasure that I heard Pope Francis, at his inauguration, call for protection of the environment. I hope everyone listens, but I suspect they will not.
