Boris, and an Inconvenient Truth

Some years ago I was invited to attend a talk by a senior member of the Anglican Church. He was a good and engaging speaker, but shocking in his dissection of the beliefs and practices of Catholicism, Islam, Buddhism and other world religions in an attempt to prove that the only valid church in the world was “ours”, and how flawed were the others. Even more shocking, to me, was the complacent approval with which his address was received by his audience, largely fellow-believers.

Flight MH17 – Truth or Lies?

Speaking about the sad and gruesome process of identification that many of the relatives of those who dies in Ukraine last week on Flight MH17 will have to experience, Jim Swire, whose daughter, Flora, died similarly in the Lockerbie air crash 26 years ago, talked today about the difficulty there is in such incidents to discover the true facts. He does not know, still, how or why his daughter died, and believes there has been a cover-up (my words) of the truth.

Time to See the Truth

A neighbour, yesterday, was kind enough to help me move and stack logs in the large cedar garage attached to my Welsh home, ready for the winter to come. It is not used as a garage now, but is a wonderful space with amazing views that I dream one day will become a Work room for me, but which, sadly, becomes used a convenient dumping place for unused items all too often. I clear it out periodically, and the shifting of wood was an invitation to de-clutter once again.
